De consultor e louco...//Consulting: the game everybody loves to play

Numa perspectiva bem ampla, todos somos consultores, conforme a situação.
Quando você dá a alguém aquela dica para melhorar a navegação na internet, você está dando consultoria, mesmo que isso tenha acontecido na mesa do chope e você não tenha levado um centavo sequer por isso.
Não é, claro, uma consultoria profissional, como não o são tantas outras de que você se utiliza, desde perguntar como acabar com os bichinhos que apareceram no vaso de violetas, até saber mais coisas sobre um modelo de carro.
Interessante é que quando alguém diz: “Atualmente, estou dando consultoria”, aí é que ele(a) não está dando, mas vendendo. É só uma maneira de falar e dá pra entender o que está sendo dito, embora haja quem ache que isso queira dizer outra coisa: “Estou desempregado”.
Maldade daquelas! O fato é que quando queremos ser influenciados e pedimos por isso a alguém, estamos solicitando uma consultoria, seja a amigos e conhecidos (informalmente), seja a algum profissional (formalmente, e pagando por isso).
Logo, o consultor é alguém que vive de exercer influência sobre os outros, mediante solicitação destes para que aquilo ocorra.

When you give someone a hint about how to improve navigation on the Internet, you're giving advice, that is, consulting, even if it happened at the table of a happy hour and you have not taken a penny for it.
It isn’t, of course, a professional consulting, and neither are many others that you use, from asking how to stop the bugs that appeared in the vase of violets, to know more about a car model.
The interesting thing is when someone says: "Currently, I'm giving advice," which means that he (she) is not giving, but selling advice.
You know, it's just a way of talking and you easily understand what is being said, although some think that may mean something else: "I'm unemployed."
That’s a kind of wickedness! The fact is that when we want to be influenced and ask someone for this, we are requesting an advisory to friends and acquaintances (informally) or to some professional advice (formal and paying for it).
Therefore, the consultant is someone who lives to influence other people, at their request so that it occurs.
